Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: –Matthew 6:19-20
Too many times we are asking God to give us our weekly, monthly, or annual bread. We want Him to bless us with a large, safe nest egg so we don’t need to be worried about the future. In many ways, this shows a lack of trust in God to provide daily for His children. The truth is that we don’t need to be worried about the future regardless if we $1 or $1,000,000,000 in the bank. If God provides for the birds of the air and the lilies of the field, how much more will He provide for His own children?
Would you rather have a warehouse full of bread or a Father who is a baker?
